Accountability is everything

I did a really dumb thing.

I said I would not read Mockingjay until I finished my novel.

That wasn't the dumb part.

The dumb part was saying it in front of my husband.

Guess who's not reading Mockingjay till they finish their novel?

You've guessed correctly.

Pssst...when you talk about the book, please whisper, as I can't cover my ears right now. I'm typing...

See I'm one of those wives who would type "the end", read the book and then "edit" ;)
Also, I don't mind when my husband makes fun of me for not doing what I said I would.

Right off, I love you, Jolene.

husbands are great! He using it as an incentive for sure. and I love what Jolene said, she is thinking out of the box for sure. But I think your hubby will catch on anyway. You have a smart husband with good intentions. But I have to say I like the way Jolene thinks! Keep typing.

I decided the same thing so it'll be a while before I read it.

You will get there, just keep plugging along. Remember sometime very soon you will be someone's must read!

Ha ha! Never make promises out loud when it comes to writing...I've learned the hard way.

Now that is some serious motivation! You can do it! Good luck and here's to hoping you'll get to read soon.

Great motivator! I can't read it until the 12 year old finishes. Wah! So I'm stuck working on my novel. Sniffle sniffle. Nobody tell me how it ends!

But you are finished writing your novel darling. You're in rewrites now--and that continues until publication.

I bought the book and let Jackie Kennedy read it before me cause I was in the middle of reading The Great and Terrible series. Well I am finished, dying to read Mockingjay and she hasn't finished with it yet. Maybe I'll get a chance to read it when you finish your novel!!
