Oh, what a tangled web we weave...

when we attempt to write a novel!

I've been moving a few things around in my novel during the revision stage, but the thing is, when you somewhat innocently move one scene to another spot because you decide it will make the story better, it affects all these other scenes, and then you have this big tangled mess. Now my story board is looking like this...

and my brain is looking like, well...yeah... Let's just say when I'm done with this I can stick my brain in a giant pickle jar and loan it out for Halloween parties or psychiatric study.

Despite pickled brains I'm SO excited to update my current word count--now appearing on the sidebar: Da, da, da da... 74,696!!!!!!!!!

Mess or not, I'm very impressed with your organization!!

Have you read Save the Cat? It's a book for screenwriters, but I'm finding it very awesome for novel-writing as well. He has an awesome storyboard system.

Good luck untangling your web!

Your story board looks kind of scary! ;)

Yikes! I am not looking forward to this part of the process. It does look scary! Nothing a horror film could portray! ;)

I have Save the Cat on hold at the library, I think I'm next on the list!

We are in the same boat! I have a red pen, blue pen and black pen situation going on with my manuscript.
Good luck with your web.

Very colorful plotting system, but hey, whatever works!

That is so true--I hate it when you tweak one scene and suddenly the whole rest of your book has to be tweaked... Makes me want to throw a childish temper tantrum sometimes. But then I eat some chocolate, remind myself that I do actually love writing, and get to work.
Congratulations on the 74,696 words! That's fantastic!
Keep up the good work. It'll all pay out in the end, I promise. :)
Put it on Paper
